Category Commercial Manager - Temp Replacement

This temporary, 1-year, role is a part of The Babyshop Group’s Buying department.  You will head up the Fashion Category, and together with the Category Operational Manager be a part of the Buying Leadership Team and report to the Chief Purchasing Officer.

We are looking for a  Strong leader with ability to set and drive strategies and lead the team in execution of the same. You are self-motivated, analytically driven, adaptable, proactive, results driven and you have strong interest in products/fashion and design, detailed oriented and structured in work relationships.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Ownership of the commercial targets for the Category (e.g. sales, profitability, inventory)

·       Responsible for executing and developing the category in line with the group strategic targets and objectives

·       Responsible for analyzing data and gaining insights to determine industry and consumer trends

·       Set execution strategy and together with the Category Operational Manager ensure that the Category meets business, profiling and customer expectations and demand

·       Work closely with the Marketing team and Business Controller to determine category competitive pricing, seasonal assortment/products are launched and exited on-time and that the marketing focus is aligned with strategic assortment/purchases

·       Ensure commercial alignment between branded and proprietary brands assortment supporting overall business goals of the company

·       Responsible for analyzing category supplier/brand sales, margin, profitability and turnover targets as well as develop and execute aged inventory exit strategies and pricing strategies together with the Business Controller for Fashion

·       Responsible for determining commercial order strategies and leading the team in placing appropriate orders to ensure product availability, managing inventory flows and improving working capital

·       Work closely with the Category Operational Manager to lead, develop and support the team to manage supplier/brands relationships, negotiation of allowances and terms with suppliers and delivering with operational excellence

·       Lead, mentor, coach, train and develop team members skills and foster an environment of job satisfaction and positive morale

·       The team is based in Stockholm and in London

·       The Employee will devise and execute tasks in a productive and efficient manner based on current objective and guidelines (the Employer reserves the right to amend the tasks from time to time)

Requirements

·       Minimum 3 years as Category Manager or similar role and/or 5+ years’ experience of buying with responsibility for product mix, budget and profitability for a segment

·       Strong commercial mindset and excellent negotiator and relationship builder with the ability to keep focus, plan, coordinate and take ideas to execution in a fast moving and changing environment

·       BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or related field

·       Proficient in using Excel and have strong data and trend analysis ability

·       Fluent in English as well as Swedish (both verbally and in written form)

·       Experience from buying or working in a retail or e-commerce context

·       The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues across all areas of the business and act as a mentor and coach for other staff members
