Product Manager Fashion

We are looking for a trend sensitive, hardworking and well-organized Product Manager Fashion that loves a challenge! We would like you to grow and develop the fashion part of our proprietary brands and lead the work from a garment design to production to delivery to our warehouse . We have very ambitious growth goals worldwide through our online and offline sales channels within the Babyshop group.

Who are you?

You have a natural sense for fashion and trends. You are a self-motivated, analytical, adaptable, proactive, result driven, hands on, humble person ready for a new exciting challenge. You have a strong interest in FMCG and you are detailed oriented, structured in work relationships, strong in negotiation and driven by sales numbers.

Role and Responsibilities

The role is a part of The Babyshop Group’s Proprietary Brands department (our inhouse brands). You will head up and lead the ‘Fashion’ Category, (kids fashion 0 - 12 years) and report to the Category Manager Propriatary Brands. Today the ‘Fashion’ Category consists of around 8 different brands and are growing in a rapid pace (3 new brands last year)! The Fashion Category amounts for a very important part of the Proprietary Brands and company revenue.

 Core Responsibilities:

  • Testing, approval of samples including photo samples
  • Responsible for managing the relationships with suppliers and negotiate vendor/factory allowances and terms of purchase. Involved in the sourcing process and make sure that we always have the best base of factories and suppliers.
  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and customer trends. Set category and brand strategies and define company brand mix to meet business, profiling and customer demands.
  • Individually or together with the Buyers attend fairs and buying appointments with key vendors and drive product strategy.
  • Analyzing quantities and placing orders.
  • Work closely with Graphic Designer and Quality department to create new brands (where relevant) and to secure relevant product safety standards.
  • Responsible to follow budget both purchase and sales budget but also be involved in creating plans and budget.
  • Analyze assortment, sales, margin and turnover targets as well as develop and execute aged inventory exit strategies, pricing strategies. Develop strategies for slow movers. 

Requirements

  • You should have experience from production and requirement setting towards agent / factory. Textile background and/or education.
  • Previous and proven experience of creating and following budgets.
  • Proficient in using Excel and have strong data, IT and trend analysis ability.
  • Fluent in English as well as Swedish (both verbally and in written form).
  • The ability to communicate confidently with colleagues across all areas of the business and act as a mentor and coach for other staff members.
  • Experience from buying or working with textile products in a retail or e-commerce.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or related field.
  • Business experience working with sourcing in Asia/Europe.
