We are looking for a Data Science Lead to join Babyshop in building a next-generation intelligent platform for online premium children's clothes. You will lead and work in a small team of Data Scientists to help build and optimize, through research and experimentation, our data-driven products. We also love innovative ideas!

Data Science plays a vital role in Babyshop’s organization, however we have a lot of interesting projects in our roadmap, hence giving you an opportunity to shape solutions and implementations at an interesting stage in our journey.

Our biggest focus area has been creating a personalized digital experience for our customers, such as real time recommendation engines and clustering of the customer base. Since then, we have added new data science areas such as developing an in-house ML based replenishment system and using ML to optimize our digital marketing through Customer Lifetime Value modelling.

In the role as Head of Data Science, you’ll be responsible for a team of three people and report directly to the CTO.

  • Lead, mentor and empower a team of Data Scientists
  • Partner with Tech, Commercial and Operation teams to drive data efforts for all workstreams, using all the tools in our current Data Science toolkit – such as big data analytics, clustering, forecasting, CLV, personalization, recommendation algorithms and A/B testing

  • Design and engineer algorithms in primarily one of these domains: Ranking, Recommender systems, Computer vision and Time series forecasting
  • Conduct practical research with a scientific mindset, and a focus on delivery
  • Translate ML/Analytics capabilities for non-technical audiences, both operational employees and senior executives, to help the organization prioritize
  • Ensure high standards of technical excellence for all Data Science efforts, adopting best practices from other organizations and vetting new technologies or frameworks when appropriate
  • Help in the design of new features in the product, and innovation inside the company

  • Data Science/Analytics experience, with experience or desire of leading a data team
    • Experience and/or desire to lead both machine learning and analytical Data Scientist and work streams - we have both on this team
    • Successful track record of working in an impactful data team
    • Highly empathetic, collaborative, prestige less approach to leadership
    • A fast learner with a collaborative disposition and have the ability to draw business insights to add real value to the business

    • You have a visionary mindset. Understanding how to improve business processes and find opportunities to apply data science techniques to real problems is as exciting to you as solving them
    • Good understanding of cloud technologies, we use GCP.
    • Experience working with Kubeflow and Kubernetes is a big plus
    • A strong English communicator (both written and spoken)
    • Be interested to keep up to date with scientific advancements
