Business Controller

About this role

We are looking for a Business Controller to further strengthen our Finance team . As a Business Controller at Babyshop group you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment at a company with an entrepreneurial spirit! You will be part of the finance department with a group of highly engaged and ambitious colleagues.  You will be responsible for driving the financial and performance agenda across all business areas. Within the field of controlling, you will support various stakeholders with both the business and financial perspective. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop our way of working. You will report directly to CFO.

In this position, you’ll have the chance to work in a small team and close-knit environment where your voice is heard. The entire team in Stockholm are technical so you certainly will face lots of exciting challenges within a modern fast-growing environment. The Finance team is a group from various and diverse backgrounds where the team as a whole benefits different experiences and knowledge of our team members.

This position is perfect for someone who likes the freedom to make critical changes without having to go through various checkpoints, you will see instant results and will be supported by your team to experiment and bring on new ideas.

What's my day like?

You would analyze and follow-up on trading performance and KPIs. Participate in cross departmental working groups to follow-up on key initiatives and performance targets. You would prepare reporting for key stakeholders. You would support department managers in building budget and forecasting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Play a strategic role in the organization in driving group performance management and governance, including setting and following up on key KPIs including establishing structure and process for follow-up on key KPIs.
  • Analyze group trading and operational results, partnering with the business to secure corrective actions are taken to reach targets
  • Take an active role in analyzing and guide the organization for opportunities to secure future growth for the Group.
  • Participate and drive preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with all stakeholders in our matrix organization
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting to group management, owners and board and take an active role within monthly and quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors and Shareholders
  • Drive business cases in order to evaluate and prioritize investments including business case follow-up
  • Contribute in improvement projects within the Finance team and serve as a business partners to process improvement projects within other departments
  • Support operations in business-critical issues

Skills

  • We believe that in order to be successful in this role, you need to have experience working with Business Controlling, preferably in start/scale-ups.
  • You have an Bachelors or Masters degree within the area of Finance, Business Administration, Economics or similar.
  • You are a strong user in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint and are used to handling large quantities of data. Experience in PowerBI or with SQL is highly beneficial
  • As a person you have a strong interest in business development and an understanding of different business drivers.
  • You have a strong drive, are results-oriented and self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Structured approach to working and able to manage complex planning and multiple parallel work-streams
