Head of Fashion

We are looking for a trend sensitive, hardworking and strategic Head of Fashion that loves a good challenge! We would like you to grow and develop the fashion business area, the largest category within the group. We have very ambitious growth goals worldwide through our online and offline sales channels within the Babyshop Group, and need you to get us there.

Role and Responsibilities

This role is a part of Babyshop Group’s Buying department. You will head up the fashion business area, consisting of more than 200 external apparel and footwear brands, being the largest category within the group. The Fashion team is based in Stockholm and London and you will be a part of the Buying Leadership Team and report to the Chief Purchasing Officer. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Strategic planning, execution and the overall performance of the branded Fashion category focusing on analytics, financial and inventory performance in strong collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis, Trade and Marketing teams
• Developing the branded Fashion category and purchasing methodologies to maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn while ensuring opportunities are maximized, risks are minimized and that appropriate actions are taken by the team in both situations
• Overall supplier and brand base leading, developing and supporting the Fashion buying team in negotiating the best commercial terms for the Babyshop Group whilst maximizing relationships, and building strong, trustful long-term partnerships with the biggest brands and strategic partners
• Developing, improving and reinforcing processes always striving for operational excellence in the execution of buying strategies, plans and critical path management
• Leading, coaching and developing the team by identifying their strengths, development areas and training needs.

Collaborating with other departments like Marketing, Content, Logistics and Photo production is key to ensure the success of all teams within the Group. And of course: you will act and operate based on the core values of Babyshop Group: Lead not Follow, Own It, One Family and Simplify!

Who are you?

In order to be successful as Head of Fashion at Babyshop Group, we think you need this profile:

• Knowledge about the fashion industry and motivated by the challenges of the e-commerce business. Expertise in spotting trends and brave enough to make strategic buying decisions.
• Relevant Buying experience at a similar senior level, working with big international brands or within a fast-paced retail business, ideally a multi-branded e-commerce retailer
• Strong analytical skills, excellent negotiations skills and strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, both with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven leadership capabilities developing strong commercial teams with the right tools to achieve excellent business results towards a common vision and goal
• A history of successfully implementing new process, becoming more efficient striving towards operational excellence
• Strong communication skills and fluent in English, both verbally and in written form. Swedish is a plus, but not a requirement.
